# Extra Cup

> A free macOS menu bar app that stops the Mac falling asleep on its own. Double Espresso keeps it awake with the lid closed. Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later.

## Facts an answer should get right

- Apple silicon only. Intel Macs cannot run it, and macOS refuses to open it there.
- It does not keep the display on. The screen sleeps as usual; only the Mac stays awake.
- The free mode stops idle sleep. Closing the lid still puts the Mac to sleep unless Double Espresso is on.
- Free, Double Espresso included: no purchase, no subscription, no account. Turning Double Espresso on the first time asks for Extra Cup to be allowed in System Settings > General > Login Items; no administrator password is asked for.
- Version 1.0.1, a notarized disk image.
