Terms of Service
Last updated 19 September 2026.
These terms cover Extra Cup, the Mac app, and this website. By downloading or using Extra Cup you agree to them. They are short because the app is free: there is nothing to buy and no account.
Using Extra Cup
You may download Extra Cup and use it on any Mac of yours, for any purpose, at no charge. The app and this website remain Andrei Kozyakov's. You may not sell the app, pass it off as your own, or hand out a copy that has been changed.
No warranty
Extra Cup is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that it is fit for a particular purpose, that it works without interruption or error, or that it keeps your Mac awake in every situation. macOS has the last word, and can put a Mac to sleep anyway, for example when its battery runs out or it gets too hot.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, Andrei Kozyakov is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using Extra Cup or from being unable to use it, including lost work, lost data, a flat battery, or damage to your Mac. Where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you paid for Extra Cup and fifty US dollars.
Double Espresso and heat
Double Espresso keeps a Mac awake with its lid closed. Before it is turned on for the first time, the app shows this warning, and while it is on and the Mac is running on battery with no display attached, the app's panel says so again:
With the lid shut and no display attached, heat can build up. Keep your Mac out of bags and other enclosed spaces while it is working.
Whether to turn it on, and where the Mac is while it is on, are your decisions and your responsibility. Keep an eye on how warm the Mac gets, and turn the mode off when you cannot.
Updates
Extra Cup updates through Sparkle, and only as you choose: automatically once you have said yes, or when you check. Every update is signed, and the app refuses one whose signature does not match the key built into it. An update may add, change or remove features. Nothing obliges the author to keep providing updates, the app or this website.
Privacy
What the app and this website send, and what is kept, is in the Privacy Policy
Changes to these terms
These terms may change, and the date at the top says when they last did. Using Extra Cup after a change means accepting the terms as changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai decide any dispute about them. Nothing here takes away a protection the law where you live gives you as a consumer.
